'umble or humble pie, whatever you call it isn't very filling. Maybe nutritious for the soul but I'd rather have pumpkin or cherry or even chocolate because those are a comfort whilst I wallow in deserved self inflicted misery. Well, depending on my mood anyway.

This is an interesting idea:
If you taste business success, your opportunity cost increases. That makes your second venture more risky, because you have something to lose (including your reputation as a successful person).

I'll have to think about this. It could be key to the root of my writer's block. One also has to top themselves, do better (take more risks) than they did before.
